30 Day Challenge Complete

challenge complete! It is a bittersweet victory... I immensely enjoyed drawing these every day and now its over! I think I need to either find another one or make up another one since it has become a mother daughter activity here! I love how my little M is blossoming into a little artist :) I bought her a small sketchbook at the dollar store the other day bc she asked for one like mine. I said if she does well with the smaller ones and treats them properly, I will see about getting her a nice book bound one like I have. She has filled most of it already.

can you tell what the drawing above is? it is a bit abstract, but I was so proud of her!

Being that my favorite television show is Frasier (a spin off of Cheers - which I am also obsessed with...) I have always wanted to go to Boston. Not only for the bar, but also for all the history and scenery and the giant aquarium and duck boat tours... I have never been and always wanted to go.

its over!

Camera Straps

I am toying with the idea of perfecting these and selling them... They are tedious but fairly inexpensive to make. I just have to figure out how much to charge for them... Here's one I made for a friend's birthday gift the other day - apples for a teacher :)

My Camera Strap Project and Crazy Weather!

Yesterday was a beautiful springlike day.. we were outside playing with just jackets on! I cleaned my car while Maris was in school and we did our grocery shopping... productive day!!!

not sure what they are doing above but the picture was in unison - they look like they are doing a dance!

this is the difference in the yard between yesterday and today... warm and sunny to rainy snow the next day.
this pic below was taken as I tucked Maris into bed... I had to get the camera. I asked her to put all her "friends" away (they were all on the couch last night going on a trip on a bus) and this is how she put them away. She had barely enough room for herself in her bed... crazy girl :)
once the kids were in bed, it was time to enjoy my night off. I had some gouda and a glass of wine and started sewing. I made 2 camera straps... the daisy one was a test one just to see if it would turn out right before I used my custom fabric. Aside from it being about an inch too short, I LOVE IT! Definitely a bit tedious but not hard at all. I want to make a bunch!

I also did my drawing challenge - anything you want... played around with silly fonts and such... I am sad that the challenge is almost over!

side note : we are about 80% there with Jackson! He fights putting diapers on at bedtime and when I go out anywhere. When we are home - NO diapers. and no accidents besides one.. he pooped on the floor in front of the potty... haha no idea why he refuses to poop in it. In time! He goes and loves wearing his super hero and toy story underpants. He's getting so big! Between preschool graduation prep, kindergarten registration, and the baby boy just about potty trained... its freaking me out a little! It goes fast.

Someone I Love - Challenge!

Maris took to doing my challenges... drew a slew of people!

I drew my parents

Gotta Love Em!

Maris now can sing lyrics to just about every song she has heard a few times... its funny. We Built This City by Starship is in the Muppet Movie and she is obsessed (like her Momma). Jackson is just a Goob and loves emulating his Sissie

What a Day!

We had such a phenomenal day! Nothing so far out of the ordinary... errands and some fun... and it is my day/night off. We started out the day with a stop at Quik Check since I had printed off the fan coupon for the week of a free rice crispy treat (printed 2!) and they were soooo happy about it! I got myself an iced coffee and we started our day.

Next stop was Tire Discount since my car really needed tires... I packed the mini coloring books and had the crispy treats on hand in case they got restless but they were fantastic.

I was a happy Momma.
he loved the marshmallows :)
The kids got such a kick out of the cutout... Maris kept calling him StayPuft marshmallow man haha
they were amused to see the car up high and I was laughing bc they jumped every time they heard a noise come from in there.
After we got tires, we stopped at Hobby Lobby (no pics - shocker!) so I can use some of my giftcard I got from my Dad and stepmom... I purchased some Valentines clearance stuff that I can use anytime.. like glitter and stickers and ribbon... and also a strip of fabric so I can try making myself a camera strap cover. It is something I've wanted to do for a while but never got around to doing it. They are hard to find! (the retro hippie like camera straps I mean....) so I picked some very ME fabric and we shall see! After that, the kids got hungry and being the coupon queen I tend to be at times... I had a coupon printed and ready for Chilis... Kids eat free today - up to 2 kids per adult... so we ate for under 12 bucks :) plus tip of course but the food was sooo good and the kids were STILL behaving. OOOOH ALSO!.... at the restaurant , I took the kids into the bathroom before our food came so we wouldnt have to go while I was eating... and after Maris went, Jackson started pulling his pants off.... saying pee had to come out... he is kind of flirting with the idea of potty training lately but nothing besides a few pees in the training potty at home... but for some reason today, he just clicked. I went with it and sat him on the toilet facing backwards and HE WENT! I couldnt believe it. I of course snapped a pic but I won't post it! haha

we hit a few more stores before heading home since I had coupons and needed a hot glue gun and a few other things for projects... barely spend any money whatsoever-considering what I got! I bought 57 hot glue gun sticks on Monday (SUPER CHEAP!) and brought them home to realize I only had a mini glue gun and they are too big :) Got myself a glue gun today with my coupon for 4 bucks that can use the sticks so Im happy. In the craft store, Maris had to GO again so we went in the bathroom and Jackson went AGAIN! Also this am he went twice... Home, the kids decorated craft supply boxes and watched Rocko's Modern Life... then got back on our drawing kick since I took a few days hiatus from it *we were busy!* Jacks has steadily peed in his potty with a dry diaper all day. Soooo weird. The only setback was that he pulled his pants up to poop in his underwear and then pulled them back down to pee in the potty... ALMOST THERE!

yeah... scenery is NOT my forte

Valentine's Day Recap

Our Valentines Day was a day of random fun... I am accustomed to not celebrating the holiday since my husband cant be bothered... never really has since 2004 when we composed wrote and played me a song... since then... nada. But aaaahhh well. I took my little valentines out for a day of surprises and galavanting. We started out with coloring with markers while I made breakfast... sprinkle pancakes :)
then we left and went to the mall. We went to Gertrude Hawk so I could buy myself some chocolate and also let my kiddos pick out a small treat for themselves :)

They said they wanted to walk through build a bear and the arcade so we hit those.. I got yelled at for taking pictures in the arcade!! licensing or whatever... but I got a few shots in before they stopped me. They should post it somewhere obvious bc I didnt know.

their prizes from the dollar I spent in the arcade :)

angry birds!!!

we checked out the Hobby Lobby and picked out some craft supplies to make things when we got home... had some fun in the store as well.

Maris found Hello Kitty Peace Sign bedsheets and her head just about exploded! She literally screamed. For those of you who dont know, Maris wants to have a hello kitty PEACE SIGN birthday party. so this was hysterical to see.

We ate lunch at the 5 guys that opened in Mtown recently... The soda machine has hundreds of flavors and its so fun. the food was ok... i am not a big burger gal but you can pick a ton of free toppings so i was a fan of that. nothing really for kiddos except an expensive small grilled cheese, but they LOVED the loose peanuts to crack and eat!
Jacks fell asleep midlunch. a MUCH NEEDED nap.

just some small gifts for the babies... and some kisses!
we made little stained glass type thingies that we bought at hobby lobby

overall a pretty fantastic day :) who needs romance... I had a ton of love

something I miss would be not having to worry about much more than where to build my next fort... being a kid in the country was awesome.

not much I need other than essentials to live... what Ifeel I need lately is perspective. I need clarity and quite frankly it was the first thing that popped in my head.
