Summer "Bucket List"

I am running through my head all of the things I'd love to see/accomplish this summer (or just in general)... and although saving money to improve our living situation is up there on the list, I also want to have a great fun summer and build great memories for the kiddos. I am feeling ambitious this morning... and have recently decided that I need to be more ACTIVE. I know I barely sleep and I already do a lot, but I mean more physically active - I want to look good in these sundresses I plan on living in this summer :) The kids and I composed a bit of a bucket list this morning and this is what we came up with... so many more but they didn't all fit! I'd love to visit a park at least once a week. We tore down the swing set this week since it was rotted through and I was afraid they would get hurt on it. I mean... Jim took the monkey bars down and just bent the wood like it was cardboard. Scary. The kids were upset that it was gone but I will take them to the parks regularly there are many great ones in the area... (plus there is talk of a new swingset for the birthdays... we shall see!) I want to take nature walks, have many photoshoots and photo expeditions, lots of family time and fun with friends. I have to fit this all in with our work schedules.... fun fun - but like I said... AMBITIOUS! A trip to VA would be great... could see my Dad and family and maybe go to Kings Dominion. Maybe even conquer a roller coaster??? We shall see :) and now the addition of another concert for Momma! Summerland festival with Everclear, Gin Blossoms and other 90's bands. So happy :) :)

The New Photo Challenge

Day 1 is self portrait.

Day 2 - Your Outfit for the Day

Day 3 - CloudsDay Four - Something Green

I am having lots of fun with this challenge - and trying to make sure I take the picture on that day - legitimately a 30 day challenge!

Our CEC Day

Yesterday I surprised the kids with a trip to Chuck E Cheese. They get so stir crazy in the house and need to just tear it up sometimes... plus it was a good tip week for me at work so I had some extra mad money. (Of course I spend it on them... haha) I looove going in the morning when they first open because we tend to have the place to ourselves - which we did. They ended up with 801 tickets and got a bunch of stuff :) All crap except for the slinkies - it is fun to see them play with those!

It was a good day!
In other news... Maris is loving ballet... my job is driving me nuts and I need to rebuild my portfolio and redesign some business cards with the name change of the "business". Coming soon : my new photo challenge

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Today we celebrated the anniversary of Theodore Geisel - Dr Suess' birthday. I made green eggs and green french toast since we had no ham/bacon. The kids DEVOURED IT! We read a few Seuss books while they ate and then did our Green Eggs and Ham floor puzzle. Maris and I played a fun rhyme game in Seuss type manner... she loves rhyming. :) My plan was to take them to see the Lorax movie, but Jim really wants to go with them so maybe this weekend if he takes some time away from his work.

I used food coloring to tint the eggs and dipped the bread in it. Since we had some white bread in the house I used that to show the color more. Making the food fun colors really made them eat that much more.

Maris has had these shoes for a while now but we had to rock them today :)

Here is the little stinker today... It sums up his attitude for the day. Last night he scratched Maris sooo bad it left marks. He hugged her head and dug his nails in. It took Jim and myself to take him off her. She headbutted him first but they fight SO BAD. Jackson needs to work on expressing his emotions better. I know he is sso small but he gets so nuts.
her battle wounds!

so today Jackson threw such a horrible tantrum in the parking lot of the preschool that I didnt even get to say good bye to Maris when she went in. I had to leave to take him back out to the car screaming. I almost cracked - I did cry a bit. I feel so out of control when he flips out. Our day was so nice except for the little blip in his attitude... we got purple cow ice cream cones (berry ice cream - better than it sounds!) at Friendly's on the way to school and everything. He snaps at the drop of a hat. Lets hope he outgrows it soon!

Leap Day

My brother in law's birthday falls on leap year and he turned "6" yesterday :) (actually 24)
the traditional brother hug shot :)

it is funny how an empty storage tub can create hours of entertainment ... and about the lack of pants... Jacks refuses to wear them at home... but its a small price to pay for potty training. We are getting there!

with the terrible weather on our bonus leap day, we ended up inside all day. Dress up, dance party, and baking ensued. We also made Maris' homemade playdoh kit that she got from her preschool. It smells sooo good!
